The Alaska ARES group respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the privacy and confidential information of those who register or otherwise affiliate with Alaska ARES.
This Privacy Policy tells you how we collect personal and other information from you and how we use it. Please take the time to read this Privacy Policy.
Type and use of Personal Information
To utilize the Alaska ARES website, you must provide information such as your first name, last name, email address, postal address and phone number. We collect only the information that you voluntarily provide us when you register on our website. We receive and store any information that you enter on the registration page. Your participation is completely voluntary and you therefore have a choice whether or not to disclose this information. If some information is required and some is optional, we will identify the required information.
Your personal information will not be used for any other reason than that which is stated on the webpage you used to register and for ALASKA ARES emergency planning purposes, mapping and to contact you during an emergency.
Third Parties (Confidentiality)
Alaska ARES will not sell, distribute, publish or otherwise disclose your personally identifying information without your express permission to anyone outside the ARES Group.
Your information will not be shared with any third party except (i) as authorized by you in accordance with this privacy policy to deliver services you request, and (ii) if compelled to do so by proper judicial or governmental authorities.
From time to time, we may employ other individuals to perform functions on our behalf (e.g., outsourced website management companies). They will have access to your personally identifying information in order to perform their functions, but may not use the information for any other purposes. In such cases, we will have a nondisclosure agreement with the service provider to ensure your contact information is protected and is not misused.
Use of cookies Alaska ARES might place small data files ("Cookies"), on your computer that allow us to recognize you each time you visit our website. By doing this, we can monitor traffic through the website and make the website more user-friendly.
We also collect, with either cookies or web logs, users' IP addresses and log in times that are identified by individual users. No personally identifiable information is ever stored within the cookie.
An IP (Internet Protocol) address is a number that is assigned to your computer when you use the Internet. Your IP address does not contain any personally identifiable information about you. Alaska ARES collects IP addresses for the purposes of system administration, to report aggregate information to our internet management, and to ensure the validity of an "opt-in" request (i.e., the consumer's consent to receive the requested information).
You always have the option to disable cookies while registering or in some other way interacting with the ARES website. The only information we maintain in our database is the information you supplied when filling out the registration form.

Anyone providing personally identifying information via the Alaska ARES website warrants and promises that they are 15 years of age or older. Alaska ARES does not intend to collect personally identifying information from anyone under the age of 15. If you are under the age of 15 we ask that you do not use this register for any of the Alaska ARES website services.
